30 Sep Dyslexia Awareness Month 2021
October is Dyslexia Awareness Month, and next week October 4-10 is Dyslexia Awareness Week 2021. Throughout the month we will work to raise dyslexia awareness, using traditional and social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube). Please do follow us and share content throughout Dyslexia Awareness month. If you hold an event in your school or workplace, please tag us so we can like and share your awareness-raising efforts.
How you can help – see our supporters pack for information, posters, and ideas on how you can get involved this year, including potential events/activities in school, or simply helping to spread dyslexia awareness online. The pack also includes info on our events over the month.
Making Your Voice Heard – We will be sharing data from our recent members’ survey during the month to highlight the current needs of those with dyslexia in Ireland. A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the survey. We had over 750 participants, which generated strong data to support our advocacy work. A full report will be released during October, as well as the data from our recent teachers’ survey.
Donate – as a charity, we rely greatly on donations from the public and businesses. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a big impact! You can donate on our website or via text donation. Please text READ to 50300 to donate €4. The Dyslexia Association of Ireland will receive a minimum of €3.60. Service Provider LikeCharity (helpline 076 6805278).
October is always a special month when we redouble our efforts in Ireland, in tandem with partners in Europe and worldwide, to increase awareness of dyslexia, the need for appropriate supports and to celebrate the wonderful strengths and skills of our fabulous dyslexics!
